About WistfulBrigh

WistfulBrigh is an independent news organisation based in London, reporting on the United Kingdom for readers at home and around the world. We were founded in 2019 by a small group of editors who believed there was still a place for careful, unhurried journalism in a noisy media landscape.

Our newsroom of 38 journalists is organised around six core desks — Business, Science, News, Technologies, Society and Exclusives. We also commission long-form essays and original investigative work for our subscriber edition.

We are funded almost entirely by our readers. Roughly 92% of our revenue comes from subscriptions, with the remainder coming from a modest number of partnerships clearly labelled as such. We accept no money from political parties.

We are members of the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO) and adhere to the Editors' Code of Practice.
